Installed after the service circuit breaker, at the head of the installation to be protected. TDP-3: 3P + N connection, the voltage of each phase is monitored with respect to neutral.
Selection guide — worked example
Villa with a single-phase 220 V connection, subscribed power 8 kVA. I = 8,000 / 220 = 36 A, hence TDP-1 40 A (max. load power 8.8 kVA). Recommended settings: overvoltage 250 V, undervoltage 180 V, automatic reconnection 180 s, the time needed for the air-conditioning compressors to equalise.

Entire familyFrequently asked questions — TDP-1 · TDP-3 min/max voltage monitoring relays
Which TDP should I choose for a single-phase villa?
The TDP-1, single-phase 220 V. Example from the selection guide: a villa on 220 V with a subscribed power of 8 kVA, I = 8,000 / 220 = 36 A, hence a TDP-1 40 A (max. load power 8.8 kVA). The TDP-1 is available in 32, 40, 63 and 80 A.
What is the difference between the TDP-1 and the TDP-2?
Both disconnect the supply on overvoltage or undervoltage and reconnect automatically. The TDP-2 also monitors the current: it trips on overcurrent (setting from 1 A up to In), displays voltage and current, and has an output contact (1NO on the TDP-2-1, 3NO on the TDP-2-3). The TDP-1 is available from 32 to 80 A, the TDP-2-1 in 40 and 63 A.
Does the TDP reconnect by itself?
Yes. After tripping, it reconnects automatically once the voltage is back to normal, after an adjustable time delay of 10 to 600 s. The selection guide recommends 180 s where air-conditioning compressors are installed.
Which voltage thresholds can be set?
Overvoltage from 230 to 300 V (trips in 0.01 s) and undervoltage from 120 to 210 V (trips in 0.1 s). The TDP-3 monitors the phase-to-neutral voltage of each phase: 3P+N connection, neutral required.
Where is the TDP installed, and is it certified?
On a DIN rail, after the incoming supply circuit breaker, at the head of the installation to be protected. The TDP-1 and TDP-3 hold a CE attestation of conformity issued by Bureau Veritas LCIE (EN IEC 60947-1 and EN IEC 60947-5-1).
